Dry measuring cups are meant, for example, to be leveled with a butter knife. Whereas liquid measuring cups have a small spout that is used to pour the liquid out, so you can’t overfill it. You will find the measurement down the side of the cup along the lines, as opposed to the measurement up to the top of the measuring cup.

If you do this, you will end up with too much flour and it may leave your mixture too dry and your recipe may not come out right.

To measure your liquid content, take your measuring cup and set it on a flat surface. Pour your liquid slowly while bending down at eye level to see where your liquid measures. Eye level is important to ensure you are measuring at the correct level.
