Did you know there are two types of measuring cups? One for dry ingredients like sugar and flour and one for liquids like oil, water or milk.
Dry measuring cups are meant to hold a butter knife. If the liquid measuring cups have a small spout to dispense the liquid, you cannot fill it. You can find the size along the lines on the side of the cup, measuring up to the top of the measuring cup.
Pints To Cups Conversion (pt To C)
Dry ingredients depend on how you measure them. Usually for things like brown sugar, you pack the sugar tightly into a measuring cup. Regular sugar, rice, flour, you put it in until your measuring cup is full or pour it out of a container.
For the flour, you take a small spoon and pour the flour into the correct measuring cup. Make sure it is never packed tightly in the cup.
If you do, you’ll end up with too much flour and it can make your mixture too dry and your mixture won’t turn out perfectly.
To measure your liquids, take your measuring cup and set it on a flat surface. Pour your liquid slowly while going to eye level to see where your liquid is measured. Eye level is important to ensure you are measuring at the correct level.
