Don’t let your kitchen make you feel defeated or insecure. Here are some helpful tips on what type of measuring instrument to use.

When weighing the ingredients, use the kitchen equivalent. Use when you want to reduce the portion and halve the recipe. Or maybe you want to double the recipe to make a larger batch.

You will see that there are measuring cups for dry ingredients like flour, sugar and other ingredients. Then you will find measuring cups for water, milk, oil, etc. Dry weighing means scooping the ingredients into the measuring cup and leveling the glass with a knife. Do not fill the measuring cup with flour or other dry ingredients as it may overfill. For wet ingredients, place a measuring cup and add liquid. Pay attention to a flat horizontal surface to ensure that the wet material is perfectly horizontal.

Pour ingredients such as rice, sugar and oats into a measuring cup. You want to have high quality ingredients. Then, for the flour, spoon the flour into a large measuring cup. Do not fill the measuring cup with too much flour or it will overflow. When the measuring cup has enough flour, level the top with a knife.
