Costco Pizza Ordering

Costco Pizza Ordering – My husband and I live alone with a medium sized dog who needs dry food, water and your endless love and attention. This means we don’t need a $60/year Costco membership. We don’t need it, because two people and a dog don’t need 84 bags of oatmeal and four pounds of shredded cheese—unless they want to throw away three pounds of shredded cheese and eat no more oatmeal.

We don’t need the damn thing, but we have it. Why is that, you ask. For the dining room.

Before you jump angrily into the comment section, let me assure you that I know what you are going to say. You do not need a Costco membership to eat in the food court. Most Costco stores allow you to walk up to the dining area without a membership card. You can also buy gas and alcohol without being a member. But you never know when you’ll need a $1,000 patio furniture set or an ATV, and we think it’s always better to be prepared.

Costco Will Enforce Members Only Policy At Food Courts

Now, if you’ve never been or haven’t heard of the late capitalist wonder that is the Costco food court, let me explain. Costco’s food courts are mythical places where you can get a two-foot-long churro for $1, a hot dog and soda for $1.50, and a large 18-inch pizza for $9.95—all made by the same brand that makes half a m ‘ clothes. .

On paper, $10 for a pizza isn’t the craziest deal in the world. After all, Little Caesars sells 14-inch, eight-piece packages for $6 each. The problem is, these packages are garbage, and they are small. They are little cardboard flavored things. Try feeding your family with cardboard: you can’t.

This column reviewed some of the best pizza joints in Houston. We’ve covered James Beard semifinalists and authentic Italian imports, paper-thin masterpieces, and Chicago-style juggernauts. While it would be silly to compare food court pizza to the offerings of such establishments, the truth is that Costco’s pizzas are amazing for a quick and very affordable dinner that feeds a family of four (or for several days ).

Because they are made to order, the inserts can be customized (albeit to a limited extent). Our standard order is half cheese, half pepper. Mozzarella is added liberally, especially on the cheese side – so much. The crust has no special flavor characteristics except that it is useful, very crisp, and frighteningly consistent. Pepperonis are a crunchy, greasy, unhealthy snack that will remind you that you didn’t go to the gym today. It all comes together to make a slice that is nothing short of amazing and perfect in every way.

Bad Experience In Costco Food Court

The truth is, it’s a refreshing alternative to takeaway, unapologetically mass-produced pizzas, crusty toppings and delivery chains that try to outdo each other with advertising gimmicks – resulting in packages that taste a little less cardboard than the next guy. . For my money, I’ll take a Costco cake over the delivery chain any day of the week and save up enough to splurge on a bottle of red or a six-pack.

Yes, you read that right – with more than 700 locations and thus food courts, Costco ranks as the 14th largest pizza chain in the country. It’s technically bigger than a Pizza Pizza Kitchen in California and about the size of a CiCi’s kitchen.

That’s a remarkable feat for a retailer that sells coffins, cars, safari vacation packages and gallon jugs of peanut butter under one roof. With that in mind, we decided to head to the nearest Costco to see how good the pizza is – is it worth a visit?

Costco is a veritable land of plenty—and its food court reflects that. While its long-standing signs and 80’s food photography might not catch a lot of attention, it’s probably one of the best lunch deals out there.

It serves a surprisingly wide variety of food, from barbecue pork sandwiches to smoothies. In 2011, the chain sold 100 million hot dogs—more than four times what was sold by all of Major League Baseball’s stadiums that year.

The price point, like the rest of the menu, is very attractive: $1.99 for a slice and $9.95 for an 18-inch pizza. This is… crazy.

How Much Is Costco Pizza?

There are three types of pizza to choose from: cheese, pepperoni, or “combo,” which is the ultimate pizza. Whether you buy it by the slice or the piece, the process is very quick. In fact, the chain has ready-made slices under heat lamps, and the cooking process has reduced the waiting time for a freshly baked pizza.

First, the slices are very large. Gargantuan. They fill a regular-sized paper plate—they hardly have their own zip code. If anything, they are at a size disadvantage.

Size also affects the flexibility of the slice – no matter how crisp the crust, something wide and flat is unlikely to be structurally strong. And we’re not saying it’s crunchy; it is very doughy, although it is important to remember that it is not moist. It’s just a more flexible, deceptive shell.

The cheese is very typical – melted, greasy, lightly melted on top to give it that iconic look. The tomato sauce has some sweetness, but not enough, so it’s weird. Plus, there’s more cheese than tomato on this slice anyway – lactose intolerant, beware.

It’s very close to the taste of Pizza Hut’s cheese pizza, which is a pleasant surprise since Pizza Hut’s pizza wins our cheese taste test from all three major delivery chains. Sour, greasy and a little chewy – but these are the three qualities that make cheap pizza taste so good.

At $1.99 a slice—actually two regular slices this size—it’s an amazing deal for a family of hungry Costco shoppers. However, if you can log in, you don’t even need to be a member to buy the food. So start eating.

Costco used to sell three types of pizza: cheese, pepperoni and combo. However, since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Costco has discontinued its combo pizza and now only sells cheese and pepperoni pizza.

It is made with a mixture of pizza dough, 10.5 ounces of tomato sauce, and 24 ounces of fresh mozzarella, provolone, and parmesan cheeses, creating the perfect ratio of crust to sauce to cheese.

The Costco pizza recipe is designed to mimic a New York-style pizza, so you can expect a crispy bite, a tomato-based sauce, and a relatively thin, cheesy crust.

In comparison, a large pizza at Domino’s, Papa John’s or Pizza Hut is only 14 inches, so Costco’s pizza is significantly larger.
