Are cup sizes the same everywhere? Unfortunately, no, they don’t! Depending on your recipe, this may or may not affect the results.

Recipes that use measuring cups to measure ingredients like carrots, celery, onions, or mushrooms won’t affect the overall flavor of your dish because of more or less ingredients. Baking recipes in which you measure flour, in particular, need to be precise. Know the location of the recipe developer and use measuring cups of the same unit for best results.

When baking, it’s always best to measure ingredients using a kitchen scale. Ditch the scale and measure out the ingredients. Measure ingredients before straining, recipe calls for straining.

I still use a measuring cup. To use a measuring cup correctly, fill it to the top and use a knife to scrape the top and level the ingredients.

When it comes to measurements for cooking, many places recognize cups, spoons, and teaspoons as volume measurements!

The short answer to the question of how many tablespoons are in a cup is 16 tablespoons. So if you need 4 teaspoons, you can use ¼ cup. For 8 tablespoons, use half a glass. Or use ¾ cup for 12 tablespoons.

For every tablespoon in the recipe, there are 3 teaspoons. Or from 1 ½ teaspoon to ½ teaspoon. For sizes smaller than a teaspoon, you can measure by hand.
