330 Km In Mph – We know that Koenigsegg is desperate to hit that magical 300 mph mark and the Jesko Absolut will be the weapon of choice when they decide to go for it.
Top speed is still unknown but according to company founder Christian von Koenigsegg, they should be ready to find out within a year. He wasn’t sure where to do that because the Nevada covered highway they used previously for Agera wasn’t smooth enough for the speeds Jesko Absolut could reach.

“If you run the numbers, you take front area, CD, power, gear ratio, power curve… The simulation says 532 km/h (330 mph), or something like that. That’s a theoretical number of course, but that’s what it says simulation to us. We don’t really have ambitions to drive that fast. The end result is position, driver’s will, and car’s ability. But in theory, it looks very fast.”

The publication questioned whether Johnny Boehmer’s proof-of-concept rationale corresponded to what he said, “It’s perfect, besides it just doesn’t last long enough. We could probably go maybe 85 percent of the car’s top speed there.”
The best way to try this would of course be VW’s own Egra-Lessien proof proof but Koenigsegg doesn’t have access to this for pretty obvious reasons.
If you’re worried that the tires might suffer and become unsafe at these speeds, you’ll be happy to know that they tested the spun tires used in the Agera RS up to 330 mph for one minute without issue. “Michelin, when they were there during the test, couldn’t believe their eyes. How amazing our car is with the tires.” Koenigsegg engineers will verify that the Absolut tires will be able to handle the speeds given the opportunity to test them, but Christian is not worried.
Only 125 examples of Jesko will be built, and Koenigsegg says it doesn’t yet know how many customers will go to Absolut, as the configurator just shipped.
Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series Taken To Top Speed
Time will tell if we see Koenigsegg take the title from Bugatti but regardless of the outcome, they will leave the pursuit of top speed behind. Line? Eager to find out, Engineering’s Jason crunched the numbers to see what the Swedish supercar could theoretically do.
In this video, the YouTuber tests his math skills and considers things like the car’s horsepower rating, rear-wheel drive layout, flywheel-less transmission, light overall weight, smoothness coefficient of drag, and more.
The current production top speed record is set by the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ which reached 304.77 mph (490.848 km/h) last year. It has the same 1,600 hp as the Jesko but weighs about 605 kg (1,338 lb) more than the Koenigsegg and has a 30 percent higher combined towing efficiency than the Jesko Absolut.
After doing some calculations, Jason landed with a possible top speed of 331 mph (533 km/h). As it turns out, this figure seems like about the right bang for the buck.

During a recent interview with Road & Track, Christian von Koenigsegg revealed that the tag number indicated a potential 330 mph (532 km/h).
“If you run the numbers, you take front area, CD, power, gear ratio, power curve… the simulation says 532 km/h (330 mph), or something like that,” he says. “These are of course theoretical numbers, but that’s what the simulations are telling us. We have no real ambition to go that fast. The end result is position, driver will and car capability. But in theory it looks very fast.”
Interestingly, Koenigsegg doesn’t think it will run into any tire issues at such speeds, revealing the tires used by the former record holder Agera RS were tested at 330mph for one minute without issue.
It remains to be seen where Koenigsegg can see a new top speed record, but it won’t be on the same section of Nevada highway used for the 277-mph Agera RS rally in 2017 because it isn’t smooth enough. Chasing 300 mph in dramatic fashion. The Jesko Absolut is the Swedish company’s idea of a high-speed inline-six, with a 0.278 drag coefficient and 1,600 horsepower from a twin-turbo V-8. It’s Koenigsegg’s answer to the 304-mph Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+.

The Absolut is supposed to be very fast, but its exact top speed is still unknown, as it hasn’t been tested by Koenigsegg. Speak to
By phone, company founder Christian von Koenigsegg said he believed the automaker would be ready to do top speed within a year, but he wasn’t sure where it would be held. The section of Nevada highway that was closed for the Agera RS’ 277 mph run in 2017 wasn’t smooth enough for the speeds the Jesko Absolut could reach, which must have been quite high.
“If you run the numbers, you take front area, CD, power, gear ratios, power curve… The simulation says 532 km/h (330 mph), or something like that,” says Koenigsegg. “That’s a theoretical figure, of course, but that’s what the simulations tell us. We have no real ambition to drive that fast. The end result is position, driver’s will, car’s capabilities. But in theory, it looks very fast.”
We asked if the Johnny Boehmer Proving Grounds—a three-mile long shuttle runway in Florida—would be suitable. “Perfect, though not long enough. We can go maybe 85 percent of the top speed of the car there.” said Koenigsegg. “The problem is when you start to get to top speed, and you want to get those last 5 to 10 mph, it’s very, very slow as the car flies forward and eats up the miles very quickly.”

Arguably the best place in the world to conduct such a test is the Volkswagen Ehra-Lessien test site, where Bugatti clocked a record 304 mph. Unfortunately, Koenigsegg does not have access to these facilities.
Remarkably, Koenigsegg doesn’t think tires will be a problem. The company has spun the tires used in the Agera RS up to 330 mph for one minute without any problems. “Michelin, when they were there during the test, couldn’t believe their eyes. How cool our car looks with the tires.” Koenigsegg engineers will verify that the Absolut tires will be able to handle the speed if a test opportunity arises, but Christian is not worried.
Even if Jesko Absolut couldn’t break the 300 mph barrier, it would still be an incredible feat of engineering. The drag coefficient of 0.278 is surprisingly low when considering the fact that the tires are wide and the cooling requirements are high for the brakes and drivetrain. “We didn’t expect it to be this low,” Koenigsegg said.
The rear wheel has a removable cover which adds to the Jesco Absolute’s top speed of around 4-5 mph, while the rear spoiler is gone and the rear shell has been smoothed and lengthened. Two vertical fins help improve high-speed stability and reduce drag, while spacers and dive planes are removed for the Absolut.

Koenigsegg will price the Jesko Absolut higher than the more trail-focused version released last year due to the increased investment required to achieve a very low drag coefficient, and the estimated cost of high-speed testing. Only 125 examples of Jesko will be built, and Koenigsegg says it doesn’t yet know how many customers will go to Absolut, as the configurator just shipped.
So will Jesko Absolute beat Bugatti? Who do you know. But what is certain is that after Jesko Absolut is finished, Koenigsegg will come out in the top speed chase.
