Hahaha, no I’m not fooling you with the title, I have what I believe is an LS430 speedometer with 320km/h as a limiter!

It was provided by TOM’s, the company that set up the LS430 with a Supercharger and a few other modifications. They have many used items for sale in Japan.

If I had known it would work, I would have searched all over Japan for one. I like km/h too.

I plan to run my LS in the future once the kit is done. But at the same time, even though I don’t do 320/km/h, I really like the way it looks, much better than US spec I think.

It doesn’t look like an LS430 ODO to me, so I don’t believe it will fit our cars.

Additional Interestingly, they made one for both models. It will fit the CDN spec car perfectly, too bad you’ll struggle to use half of that 320km/h.

As soon as the speed drops to zero, it jumps to 320 km/h and everything is normal. It’s not clear why the car briefly thought it wasn’t moving, although if I had to guess it was probably a faulty wheel speed sensor in one of the corners (although the car probably had an ABS fault, so who knows?)

Bring back the bulldog show and add more power. The original Bulldog had a twin-turbocharged 5.3-litre V8 that produced 441kW and 578Nm of torque. Following the fitment of modern fuel injectors, the updated Bulldog now pushes out 478kW, which is more than enough to propel the hatchback to 200mph. Some modifications to the gearbox were required to cope with the new power figures.

Tim Griffin, CEO of Classic Motor Cars, expressed the importance of maintaining the Bulldog’s authenticity throughout the project so that the one-of-a-kind concept car is as close to the original product as possible. As long as you can safely reach standard speeds.

Anything is possible. I know there is a guy on the Facebook groups who repairs clusters, I believe at one point he said he could program the odometer. And if I recall from the big cluster thread here, it can move from cluster to cluster relatively easily.

Has the car been in the States for a while or is it being sold by the importer? You can get a car report from carvx.jp, just like Carfax. It may or may not help you.

Edit: To better answer your question. The most common thing I’ve seen on Japanese imports is a speedometer replacement. RE Amemiya, Knight Sports and others sell or sell 320km/h speedometers that have the entire speedometer assembly with odo. But they usually have the company logo in the center. Others less so
