Pursuit Of Speed: The Story Of The 310 Mph Ford Gt

The timeline is the same as the camera clock and can be completely wrong. Sure, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ might be faster than any production car before (it hit 304.773 mph or 490.48 km/h in 2019), but in a straight line, the 2006 Ford GT is even faster.
The Ford GT you are looking at has been owned by Johnny Bohmer since 2006 and has long been one of the fastest street legal cars in the world. Indeed, Bohmer originally bought it from the showroom with the intention of breaking the 300 mph (482 km/h) barrier. He’s gone through many iterations over the years, and while he’s not sure how powerful he is right now, there’s no denying that this thing is an absolute beast.
Bohmer and his team recently visited the launch and landing facility at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to test the new ECU that was recently installed on the vehicle. The car performed so well during testing that Bohmer decided to hold the throttle to the ground while he dared. When it finally took off, the car reached an extraordinary speed of 310.8 mph (500.1 km/h). This makes it the fastest road-legal car in the world.
It’s not just some cars out of the race. Bohmer’s Ford GT still has working air conditioning, power windows and a stereo. He regularly rides it near his home in Florida and even takes his kids to school with it. Yes, this is a 310.8 mph 2006 Ford GT that works well as a road car. 746 × 599 pixels. On the Ankara-Afyon-Usak-İzmir high-speed railway, the route of the Afyon-İzmir section has been repaired. The section Turgutlu-Manisa-İzmir is modernized. A new two-lane line is being built for the rest. The city of Usak joined this. The city of Aksaray added it. (A new high-speed line between Ulukışla-Aksaray is planned and launched. The Ulukışla-Yenice high-speed line will connect the Mersin-Adana-Gaziantep high-speed line to the rest of the high-speed network.)
Spain: fixed some speeds (including Madrid-Zaragoza, as no other line operates at 310 km/h in Spain since 2016)
Sweden and Finland: points removed from the Luleå-Haparanda and Kemi-Tornio sections, as there is now passenger service there. | Spain: Seville-Cadix exact speed (one section is 140/160 km/h) / Algeciras city point added
Germany: fixed the improvement of the section between Karlsruhe and Ramstatt (it is smaller than previously drawn) | Germany: Made some thin gray lines (<200 km/h) (forgotten in last update)

Koenigsegg last month unveiled the 1,600 HP Jesko Absolut, which would have been at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show without the coronavirus pandemic, along with the Gemera. forced the organizers to close the event.
The first thing the Swedish company said about the Absolut was that it was “the fastest Koenigsegg ever made, and the company will never try to make a production road car – ever.”

In case you feel like you haven’t seen enough of the Absolut, leave it to Koenigsegg to take the car to Angelholm Road for a quick photo op next to the classic Jesko.
Unlike the latter, the Jesko in the Absolut version has a drag coefficient of only 0.278 Cd and, as you can see, lacks a large rear wing. Still, the car produces a maximum power of 3,086 lb (1,400 kg), including 1,764 lb (800 kg) at 155 mph (250 km/h) and 2,205 lbs (1,000 kg) at 171 mph (275 km/h).
Other revisions include the removal of the hood scoop and front duckbill, and the addition of two F-15-inspired wings – helping to stabilize the car at high speeds while helping to keep drag low. Meanwhile, the 21-inch rear wheels are different, with 325/30 tires and the front suspension is compact.
Powering the Jesko Absolut is the same twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 engine used by its more aggressive-looking sibling. It produces 1,600 HP and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque on E85 fuel and 1,280 HP on 95-octane fuel. promised a low-pressure sibling of the Jesko and the company’s fastest model ever.
All New Hennessey Venom F5 Carbon Fiber Chassis
To set the top speed record once and for all when the production of Jesko Absolut is completed. “It’s pretty fast. In fact, we don’t even want to build anything fast. Ever,” Koenigsegg said.
How much can you ask for? Well, according to Koenigsegg’s calculations, the new Jesko Absolut is capable of reaching “road, over 500 km/h”, or 310 mph, comfortably beating the best Bugatti.
All that remains is to set the actual date of the recording attempt, but this may take some time. “It is again to contact the authorities, the police and try to close the good road,” Koenigsegg said. “So it might take a year or two, something like that. But the goal is to prove what the car is capable of.”
The Absolut uses the same engine as the Jesko, a twin-engine 5.0-liter V8 that produces up to 1,578 horsepower (1,600 hp) of E85. The flat intake V8 also has a small electric supercharger that injects air into the turbo to eliminate lag. The clutch is a nine-speed multi-speed Light Speed transmission, a unique Koenigsegg design that eliminates traditional clutch rings.

Jesko Absolut has replaced the large rear wing with two protruding pillars that aid stability at high speeds and, in addition to the long tail and the rest of the aero revision, grant a drag coefficient of 0.278 Cd. Almost all potential buyers of a 2006 Ford GT would leave it in the garage to show people or drive to a special event, but leave it completely stock. However, Johnny Bohmer had a good idea for the 2006 Ford GT. Why not make it the fastest road car in the world instead of a stock Ford GT?
This is the story of Johnny Bohmer and his 06 Ford GT, nicknamed the “BADD GT”. Bohmer got the Ford GT off the showroom floor in 2006 with the sole purpose of owning the world’s fastest car. Four years later, “BADD GT”
